A Letter from Innovation Senior Management’s Founder & CEO, Pilar Carvajal (Dec 4)
December 4, 2020
Dear Residents, Families and Staff,
The hope of returning to normal operations in 2021 hinges on the widespread distribution of a safe and effective Covid-19 vaccine. With that in mind, we are preparing to ensure an efficient vaccination process, as soon as a vaccine is available. We will be using Walgreens and CVS to help with this initiative in our communities. Having early access to the Covid-19 vaccine is extremely important for our residents and
staff that assist them. In addition to the infection prevention measures, we have been testing but the vaccine is a potent tool to moving forward.
Three drug makers, AstraZeneca; Moderna; Pfizer and its partner BioNTech, are seeking regulatory approval from the FDA for three different Covid-19 vaccines. The first doses could be ready to administer as early as later this month. Between the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, the CDC expects millions of doses to be available by the end of December. Initially, supplies are expected to be limited, which is why workers and residents of long-term care facilities, such as assisted living communities and skilled nursing facilities, will be among the first to receive a Covid-19 vaccine when it is available.
We will keep you informed as we get new information.
